Stuck on what behaviour to train next?
Have you ever taken a break from training? And/or struggled to find your mojo regarding what behaviours you want to train next?
This was precisely my predicament recently! First, I had to personally pause training due to needing to prioritise some other areas of my life! And then, when it came time to begin again, I wanted an easy and fun project to work on to help me get back into the flow of daily training sessions!
This was when I learned about ‘Trick titles’ and consequently Fibi-dog, and I had a lot of fun earning our first ‘Novice Trick Dog title.’
To earn the novice title, you have to demonstrate 15 behaviours from an extensive list of options [we only did 13 – as two of our behaviours counted towards two points due to being from more advanced ‘trick dog title lists’].
Below is a compilation video of the 13 we choose!
This was a TONNE of fun training FIbi to do all the required behaviours [using positive reinforcement] to earn this title!
Fibi & I are now looking forward to moving to the ‘Intermediate level.’
